When I go up through the mowing field,<\/div>\n
The headless aftermath,<\/div>\n
Smooth-laid like thatch with the heavy dew,<\/div>\n
Half closes the garden path.<\/div>\n
And when I come to the garden ground,<\/div>\n
The whir of sober birds<\/div>\n
Up from the tangle of withered weeds<\/div>\n
Is sadder than any words<\/div>\n
A tree beside the wall stands bare,<\/div>\n
But a leaf that lingered brown,<\/div>\n
Disturbed, I doubt not, by my thought,<\/div>\n
Comes softly rattling down.<\/div>\n
I end not far from my going forth<\/div>\n
By picking the faded blue<\/div>\n
Of the last remaining aster flower<\/div>\n
To carry again to you.<\/div>\n

In November when the leaves wither, the flowers fall, and the grass turns brown everything is but a faded image of brilliant summer glory. \u00a0The Thanksgiving Season leaves wonderful memories but a feeling of longing; what is, what was, could have been, to do once more…<\/p>\n

When I go up through the mowing field,
\nThe headless aftermath,
\nSmooth-laid like thatch with the heavy dew,
\nHalf closes the garden path.<\/p>\n

And when I come to the garden ground,
\nThe whir of sober birds
\nUp from the tangle of withered weeds
\nIs sadder than any words<\/p>\n

A tree beside the wall stands bare,
